Commode - Walnut - Provencal commode, 18th century

Provencal Louis XV chest of drawers, made in solid walnut and characterized by a sinuous line (bow-shaped or bulging) on both the front and the sides.
The lines are graceful yet maintain an austere solidity.
It features three large drawers with panels framed by elegant, sinuous moldings carved in solid wood. The handles, skirting boards and lock escutcheons are made of bronze or gilded metal richly chased with vegetal motifs and asymmetrical rococo-inspired designs.
The lower drawer front shows a prominent central carving of a stylized shell or fan, a classic ornamental motif of 18th-century cabinetmaking.
Overall in good condition, solid and without breaks. Signs of wear due to time are present.
It could be ready for use, but a review and precautionary anti-mite treatment are recommended.
