Floral still life with a horizontal composition starring a lush bouquet arranged in a round-bodied vase. The flowers, executed with loose, impastoed brushstrokes, combine whites, creams, yellows, pinks and purples, accompanied by deep green leaves.

The overall scene stands out against a background built with ochre, greenish and reddish tones. To the right appear several flowers separated from the main bouquet, a device that visually expands the composition and reinforces the sense of expansion suggested by the title. The vase rests on a burgundy cloth, whose folds add depth and movement to the scene.

The work presents an intimate atmosphere and a marked pictorial expressiveness. The subdued lighting concentrates on the lighter flowers, creating contrasts with the background and highlighting the texture of the painting material. Signed in the upper left corner.

He is especially known for his floral still lifes, though he also cultivated landscape and female portrait. His compositions are characterized by spontaneous brushwork, expressive color treatment and a special attention to lighting effects and material textures.
