Description from the seller
The Offering
The Offering is a figurative work of contemporary language that represents an intimate and symbolic moment, in which the human figure, nature, and birds come together in the same scene.
The composition presents a seated woman, surrounded by doves and accompanied by a simple still life of fruits. The presence of the birds adds a poetic dimension to the work, evoking ideas of companionship, freedom, peace, and connection with the surroundings. The fruit, arranged as a small offering, also introduces a reading linked to generosity, abundance, and the act of sharing.
The palette, dominated by cream tones, whites, greens, and blues, is pierced by coral and orange brushstrokes that outline the contours and bring warmth to the scene. The brushwork is deliberately loose and visible, allowing the artist’s gesture to be part of the composition and giving the work a sense of spontaneity and freshness.
The figures of the doves, especially those in the foreground, create depth and movement, while the relaxed posture of the woman conveys serenity and contemplation. The result is a everyday scene transformed into an image charged with sensitivity and meaning.
The Offering invites us to pause in the beauty of the simple: a gesture of giving, the presence of animals, and the calm of a moment shared. A luminous and delicate piece, with a strong painterly personality and contemporary sensibility.

R. Serra is a visual artist living in Spain whose practice revolves around pictorial research and the mechanisms of image construction. Her training in Plastic Arts, with a specialty in painting, along with later studies in graphic design, shapes a language that places painting in dialogue with the aesthetics and visual logics of digital culture.
Her work investigates memory as a process of editing and reconstruction, where lived and imagined memories converge to generate images that question the stability of representation. Through painting, she explores the tensions between presence and absence, experience and fiction, proposing scenes suspended between the intimate and the universal.
During the last decade she has developed an exhibition trajectory that includes group shows in national and international galleries, consolidating her presence in the context of contemporary art.
