A 1/2 violin (half violin) is specially designed for children roughly 6 to 9 years old with an arm length between 50 and 56 centimeters. An instrument of the right size is crucial to teach a healthy playing posture and prevent physical complaints.

Important features of a 1/2 violin
Age indication: Usually suitable for elementary school age (grades 3 to 5).
Measuring arm length: Measure from the center of the left palm to the neck. If this is around 53 cm, you’re a perfect fit.
Complete set: Many violins (including this one) are sold as a set including case, bow, and rosin.
This violin also includes an adjustable shoulder rest.
A shoulder rest provides a stable connection between the violin and your shoulder, helping you maintain a relaxed posture and prevent cramps.
