The Visitor
The Visitor is a contemporary figurative work that explores human presence through an intimate, silent, and mysterious scene. The female figure appears in profile, partially integrated with the surroundings, as if she had arrived in a space she calmly observes before becoming part of it.
The composition establishes a dialogue between the woman and the natural elements that surround her. The fruit, leaves, and branches occupy a large part of the scene and create a domestic and organic atmosphere, while the figure seems to gently intrude into this everyday universe. This relationship between character and environment is what gives meaning to the title: a presence that arrives, observes, and, for a moment, shares the space.
The palette of soft tones—creams, muted greens, pinks, and ochres—contrasts with the intense strokes of blue, red, and black that run through the composition. These lines, spontaneous and gestural, lend a distinctly contemporary character and reveal the painter’s gesture.
The face, treated with great subtlety and partially hidden by the hair, conveys introspection and serenity. It does not aim to tell a concrete story, but to suggest one, leaving room for the viewer to imagine who this visitor is and what relationship she maintains with the place.

R. Serra is a visual artist based in Spain whose practice centers on painterly research and the mechanisms of image construction. Her training in Plastic Arts, with a specialty in painting, along with later studies in graphic design, shapes a language that places painting in dialogue with the aesthetics and visual logics of digital culture.
Her work investigates memory as a process of editing and reconstruction, where lived and imagined memories converge to generate images that question the stability of representation. Through painting, she explores the tensions between presence and absence, experience and fiction, proposing scenes suspended between the intimate and the universal.
Over the past decade she has developed a show record that includes group exhibitions in national and international galleries, consolidating her presence in the context of contemporary art.
