Description from the seller
Lot consisting of three fascinating antique railway lanterns in dark metal, historically used for signaling and positioning on trains.
The set includes a central square-based lantern with a large red front lens (stop or tail indicator) and two cylindrical side lanterns with wide transparent lenses and an inner parabola painted matte white for maximum refraction of light.
All three pieces retain their original internal mechanisms intact: brass/metal wick burner with a regulation wheel and a fuel tank (kerosene/paraffin). On the back are the characteristic sliding brackets for fixing to carriages or station supports.
Two glass panes are missing.
The items are in good aesthetic and structural condition, with a beautiful antique patina that underscores their authenticity. Ideal for collectors of railway memorabilia, fans of mid-century modern design and industrial design.
The items are sold as seen, as described in the photographic gallery. Please carefully and thoroughly review all uploaded images before placing an offer, as they are an integral and substantial part of this description for assessing the general condition, patina, and integrity of the pieces.
