Description from the seller
Springbank 15 Year Old Sherry Matured Campbeltown Single Malt Scotch Whisky (2026) 70cl
One of the finest whiskies to ever come out of Campbeltown.
Sherry Matured, dark, satisfying and by many, one of the best every day Springbanks that they make.
TASTING NOTES
Nose: Springbank’s gentle giant. This dram is big and bold with notes of cured meat, barbecued beef jerky, clove, mint, iodine, oxo cube and tinned prunes all evident from the Oloroso cask maturation, while lobster creels hint at Springbank’s characteristic maritime influence. Fragrant with a certain richness. Notes of fruit salad and a hint of caramel, pineapple, guava and passion fruit lurk. There are notes of dried leather and old ropes. A hint of toffee sweetness and some granary toast.
Palate: Quite full and rich. There are notes of creamy fruit salad and more exotic fruit notes. There is palpable mastication from the oaked tannins with a hint of spice. The peaty character is now evident with sooty kiln smoke and tobacco leaves prominent in this viscous tipple alongside prunes, walnuts, figs, Demerara sugar, cocoa powder and smoked meats.
Finish: The finish grows and develops with notes of soot, leather and walnuts prominent before easing off like the ebbing tide over one of Kintyre’s pebble beaches.
