Description from the seller
Red Dream, 2026
Oil on canvas, 89 × 116 cm
A sleeping woman, gathered into herself, occupies almost the entire space of the painting. The intense red of the bed contrasts with the cool and pale tones of the body, creating an intimate, silent, and slightly unsettling atmosphere.
The work engages in a dialogue with the tradition of the reclining nude, from Modigliani to Central European Expressionism, but the figure here is reinterpreted from a contemporary sensibility, more introspective and psychological. The line draws the body with freedom, while the shapes and color seek to convey an emotional state rather than a strictly naturalistic representation.
Oliver Plehn (Germany, 1970), 2026. Original work, oil on canvas.
The work is signed by the artist and comes with a certificate of authenticity. For security reasons, the canvas will be carefully shipped rolled in a sturdy tube.
Oliver Plehn (Germany, 1970) is a German painter based in Madrid. His work combines European figurative tradition with a contemporary vision focused on human emotions, memory, and identity.
His works have been exhibited in Europe and the United States and form part of international private collections.
