An intricate tangle of foliage occupies the entire surface, built of overlapped impressions that reproduce every vein. In the center the golden leaves glow like points of held light, while around the green unfolds into dozens of shades, from bright pale to the deepest. In the lower part blue and violet transparencies appear, cooling the tone and giving the composition breath. The slender vertical stems cross the painting field and govern its rhythm. Everything suggests a lush abundance, vital, suspended in its season’s peak.
