Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
A wooden early‑20th‑century Art Nouveau display piece, model Modernista, made in France, dimensions 57 cm wide by 48 cm high by 12 cm deep, in good used condition with minor age-related imperfections, featuring handcrafted carving and a small glazed lower compartment.
Description from the seller
An early 20th‑century display cabinet carved entirely in wood, where the hand of the craftsman leaves a clear imprint: every curve, every cut, every vegetal motif seems to emerge from patient, deeply ornamental work. The piece is organized like a small piece of domestic architecture, with an upper section crowned by a sinuous, almost organic cap, and a front that combines soft symmetry with ornamentation that unfolds without rigidity.
Modernist forms appear in the fluidity of the lines, in the scrolls that unfold like leaves, in the motifs that recall stylized stems and shoots. It is not a modernism of grand gestures, but an intimate one, typical of workshops that adapted the language of nature to everyday objects, seeking beauty in functionality. The lower area, with its small glass-front compartment, adds a practical touch without breaking the aesthetic unity: the carved wood wraps around the glass as if protecting it, integrating it into the whole.
The piece preserves that charm of early-century handcrafted furniture, where decoration is not an add‑on but an essential part of the structure. An exhibitor that breathes warmth, workmanship, and a personal interpretation of modernism, closer to the domestic than to the monumental.
Certified shipping and good packaging.
