Rodrigo Alonso Cuesta (Burgos, 1982). He resides in Spain.

This holder of a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Salamanca and of Audiovisual Communication from the University of Burgos has had an outstanding academic training, complemented by experiences abroad thanks to the Erasmus scholarships he carried out in Portugal and Belgium.

His artistic activity focuses mainly on oil painting, acrylic, watercolor, digital art and paper, where he creates paintings, drawings and collages. His style is characterized by a rich, vivid and expressive color palette, as well as a plastic compositional style, with dynamic and unusual perspectives, influenced by his passion for analogue photography.

The themes he addresses in his works are “landscapes, still lifes and portraits…that’s all,” following the famous phrase of David Hockney. Although his work starts from figuration, he has recently begun to experiment with geometric abstraction, always in large and spacious formats.

This artist has participated in numerous national exhibitions, with a special focus on the north of Spain. For over 20 years, he has presented his work in various towns, such as Burgos, Teruel, Vitoria and Salamanca, where his work is especially recognized. He has also won painting prizes at both national and international levels, which demonstrates his talent and recognition in the artistic field.

Recently he won the prize of the III Motril Art Contest. 2024.
