Description from the seller

Mandela Park #2
Format 40X40 Fine ART
Certificate of Authenticity

Light and shadow play a central role here, highlighting contrasts and textures, while adding emotional depth to the image. Every detail, from traditional clothing to facial expressions, tells a story—the story of a proud people rooted in their origins.

Ben Dauchez, through this work, invites us to immerse ourselves in a distant yet profoundly human reality, where time seems suspended. An invitation to contemplation and reflection on the beauty of encounters and shared moments.

Passionate about photography from a young age, Ben DAUCHEZ began in La Rochelle’s neighborhood studios. There he acquired the full set of fundamentals of classic technique, from shooting to retouching, through the lab. At 22, freshly graduated, he left to settle in Paris to perfect his training by becoming a on-set assistant for the Daguerre studios, Le Petit Oiseau va sortir and Studio Zéro. He had the chance to collaborate with and assist some of the most talented photographers: Bettina RHEIMS, Patrick DEMARCHELIER, Terry RICHARDSON, Ellen VON UNWERTH, Marcus MAM... From certain decisive encounters, beautiful projects and long collaborations arose, notably with André RAU, Bettina RHEIMS (the sultry INRI exhibition and its eponymous book at Editions Albin Michel) and Peter BEARD (the 2009 Pirelli calendar in Botswana).

His photos have been published, among others, by Condé Nast Editions (French and international), Première, Wallpaper, ID, Madame Figaro, Lifestyles, Dandy Magazine... His universe also interests brands with very different identity codes, for which he has led the realization of Institutional and/or advertising campaigns such as Dior (beauty), L'Oréal, Peugeot, Philip Morris or Burger King (Advertising awarded at the Dubai Lynx).

Ben DAUCHEZ has also produced numerous portraits of celebrities (IGGY POP, Woody HALLEN, Grace JONES, Jean DUJARDIN, Gilles LELLOUCHE, Olivier MARCHAL, Carole BOUQUET, Charlotte GAINSBOURG, ...) of beauty, cosmopolitan men (Olivier DASSAULT, Jacques SEGUELA...) and travelers...
This photographic path has since allowed him to freely immortalize the human beauty, aesthetics, and spiritual essence of each personality.
