Jan Bévort (John of Johannes Hubertus Hendrikus Bévort) was a Dutch artist who was born in 1917 in Utrecht and who died in 1996 in Schoorl. He was a painter who specialized in painting with a palette knife. John was a pupil at the Artibus Academy in Utrecht under Chris Achterberg and G. Nijenhuis. His favorite subjects were marine art (genre), cityscapes, landscapes (genre) and still lifes. Additionally he painted Southern European scenes under the pseudonym 'Camprio'. John was a member of ‘the International Organization of Free Art’ and taught painting to Peter Brouwer.
