Thomas Rosenboom - Dank na dato - 2020

Despite a fine and substantial body of work with highlights such as Public Works and Washed Meat, Thomas Rosenboom is not really an author who is cherished in the hearts of bibliophiles. We contend that this is unjust. And we write this not because we urgently want to sell the little booklet Dank na dato, but because many book lovers are grievously shortchanged.

Apparently the incomparable antiquarian and publisher Nick ter Wal thinks the same. On several occasions he, in his latest capacity, issued a manuscript about the now 70-year-old author (boys grow up)—as with the aforementioned Dank na dato. That Ter Wal does not approach his publications lightly is shown by the fact that he had the booklet prepared by the late Flemish letterpress artist Boris Rousseeuw.

Dank na dato is the speech, not previously published in book form, in which Rosenboom recalls his study of Dutch and the beginnings of his writing career.

The fine booklet is sewn and glued in a paper cover, contains 18 pages and was hand-set in the Franciscan type and printed by the aforementioned Boris Rousseeuw of De Carbolineum Press in Kalmthout. The edition consisted of 50 numbered and signed copies by the author. This is number 22.
