Mid-Century Modern brass portavaso in hammered brass, Italy, dating to 1950–1960, with a 40 cm diameter, 20 cm total height (feet included) and 14.5 cm inner usable height, in good vintage condition with minor signs of age and stains.
Description from the seller
Grande Caspò / Brass hammered planter with spherical feet – Italy, mid-20th century
Elegant and imposing planter (caspò) of Italian manufacture, dating from the mid-20th century (1950s-1960s).
Made entirely of solid brass, the piece stands out for the superb hammering work along the entire exterior ring. This artisanal technique not only embellishes the design but also creates beautiful plays of light and reflections on the metal surface.
The structure rests on three sturdy and elegant spherical feet, which slenderize and lighten the imposing shape of the basin (felt pads are currently on the feet to protect furniture, easily removable).
On the outer bottom there are still the original inventory labels from the period, testifying to its authenticity and historicity.
Dimensions: diameter 40 cm, total height (including feet) 20 cm, usable internal height 14.5 cm.
The piece is presented in good vintage structural condition (no dents or deep scratches). It was deliberately decided not to polish the brass in order to preserve its magnificent and authentic patina of time, which gives it an antique charm and an inimitable character.
The photographs are an integral part of the description and show in detail the conservation state and the natural oxidation of the metal, so please study them carefully.
A piece with great character, perfect for both classic settings and modern or eclectic interiors (ideal for Hollywood Regency style).
Excellent as a capacious planter for large indoor plants or display.
Careful packaging and traceable shipping.
