A rare and limited-edition release from Royal Lochnagar, presented as part of Diageo's prestigious 2021 Special Releases – Legends Untold collection.
This 16-year-old Highland single malt was matured in a combination of American and European oak refill casks and bottled at a powerful 57.5% ABV (cask strength). A refined and elegant expression that combines fresh orchard fruit and floral notes with creamy sweetness, oak and warming spice.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Mellow and rounded, with fresh notes of orange zest and green apple, followed by hints of puff pastry. A subtle mossy and lightly woody character adds depth. With a splash of water, white grapes and delicate spice become more pronounced.
Palate: Creamy and smooth, with intense barley sugar sweetness and lively fruity acidity. Developing oak brings a pleasant dryness, while water reveals a smoother sweetness and warming spices.
Finish: Warming and welcoming, with lingering white pepper and gentle wood spice.
