Description from the seller

Refined Richard Ginori porcelain dinner service, expression of the elegant and measured taste of Italian Art Deco.

The service stands out for the purity of its shapes and for the delicate balance between geometric rigor and decorative richness, characteristics that made the historic Doccia manufactory famous in the period between the twenties and thirties.

The porcelain, with a pure white ground, is embellished with an elegant outer band composed of a geometric motif in shades of blue, interspersed with small bouquets of pink roses, finished with a thin edging in pure gold that gives brightness and prestige to the whole.

The contrast between the linear design of the Greek key and the delicacy of the floral elements creates a refined and timeless decoration, perfectly in line with the Deco taste.

The service counts 23 pieces and consists of:
6 deep plates (soup plates)
6 appetizer plates
1 tureen
1 sauce boat
1 rectangular serving dish
1 round tray
1 oval tray

Overall good condition, gold slightly worn on some plates. The lid of the tureen and one plate show more evident defects shown in the photograph.

Seller's Story

My name is Riccardo. I recently graduated in Art History from the University of Florence and I am passionate about porcelain. From tableware to artistic vases, from figurines to tea and coffee sets, I am fascinated by the mastery and creativity of great artisans and designers who manage to shape this fragile material, transforming a rough mass into masterpieces with a story to tell. During my years at university I began to become interested in the history of nineteenth- and twentieth-century tableware; today, every day, I deal with prestigious porcelain pieces that always have something to say to me and to those who purchase them. I love that every day I can discover more about the objects I find while traveling around Italy, always learning something new. I always try to convey to my clients this passion I have for the objects I sell, certain that each of them has a story to tell: that of the creator, that of the one who preserved it, and that of the person who will give it a new life.
