The corrida is a recurring theme in Raoul Dufy's work, particularly from his stays in the south of France and in Spain. Fascinated by the spectacle, he does not seek to convey its festive character, its dynamism, or its play of lines.

Significant moisture marks on the left half of the drawing (the paper is slightly warped in this area) and at the back of the frame
