Daniel Witschkanow, Fractured Gaze № I, an original hand‑made acrylic and mixed media portrait in black and white, signed by the artist, created in 2025, 70 x 50 cm, edition Original, sold with frame.
Description from the seller
“Fractured Gaze” – Original painting No. I
Originales, handgefertigtes Gemälde von Daniel Witschkanow, 2026
Über das Bild:
An intense face emerges from a complex web of black lines, loops, and densifications. The eyes in particular possess a strong presence and draw the gaze immediately, while other areas of the portrait are intentionally kept open and fragmented.
The varying densities of the lines make the face hover between clarity and dissolution. While the eyes, nose, and mouth stand out clearly, the forehead, cheeks, and neck seem to partly disappear into the abstract network of lines. This creates a compelling balance between control and inner chaos.
The consistent reduction to black and white further enhances the emotional impact. From a distance, it appears as a powerful portrait, while up close numerous fine connections, overlaps, and spontaneous movements can be discovered.
Technique:
The painting was created in the artist’s characteristic thread technique. For this, high-quality, highly pigmented acrylic glaze is mixed with selected painting media until a fluid yet controllable consistency is achieved.
The color is applied to the canvas with brush and hand in long threads, dynamic loops, and spontaneous motions. Through numerous overlays, both delicate lines and intense black densifications emerge, from which the portrait develops step by step.
High-quality acrylic paints and acrylic glazes provide intense blacks, clear contrasts, and durable color brilliance. The combination of controlled line work and spontaneous movement makes each work a fully handmade, non-reproducible unique piece.
