Andrea Krauß, Encounter of birches _08, a 2025 acrylic landscape on a 3D wood panel (6 cm deep) measuring 15 cm × 15 cm, original edition, signed on the rear, in green, white and cream, produced in Germany and sold directly by the artist.
Description from the seller
Lovingly worked out down to the smallest detail, the landscapes and natural spaces in Andrea Krauß’s pictures present themselves. In “Nature Studies” she dedicates herself with remarkable precision and sensitivity to depictions of birch trees in their natural surroundings. The acrylic-on-wood scene shows three distinctive birch trunks that stand out from the light background with their characteristic white-brown bark. Through a lively, impasto application of color, a fascinating surface texture emerges that suggests depth and movement.
The finely graded greens of the foliage—from rich dark green to bright yellow-green—create a multi-layered, almost impressionistic play of light and shadow. The subtle beige background brings the composition to rest and focuses attention entirely on the study of the trees—both in form and texture.
This work is not only a natural observation but also a quiet homage to the structure and elegance of the birch. Ideal for collectors of contemporary nature painting as well as lovers of mood-filled forest landscapes.

Andrea Krauß is one of the prominent figures in contemporary German painting. A laureate of the AOK Nordost Art Prize (Berlin/Brandenburg) and a former fellow at the renowned Künstlerhaus Lukas in Ahrenshoop, she completed her studies at the Braunschweig University of Art. For many years she has devoted herself to painting and today lives and works in her studio in the heart of Berlin.
At the center of her artistic work is the fusion of memory, atmosphere, and landscape. Beginning with personal impressions, Andrea Krauß develops visual worlds that go beyond the individual and touch universal experiences of nature, space, and transience. Recurring motifs especially include birches and other elements of nature, whose quiet presence blends with traces of human creation and memory.
Andrea Krauß’s works have been shown in galleries, museums, and prestigious exhibitions and are now in numerous private collections. Her works impress with their poetic strength, their atmospheric density, and the sensitive connection between nature observation and personal memory."
