Midnight Express takes us on a nocturnal journey to the heart of an imaginary city, suspended between sky and sea.

In this work, rails, walkways and stairs intersect like the lines of a vast network of life. The eye follows this winding path that traverses houses, cliffs and lights, like a train speeding through the night, bearing with it stories and dreams.

The small illuminated houses contrast with the blue depths of the landscape. Each window becomes a small patch of life, a suspended moment in this city that seems never to sleep. Above, the stars accompany the journey like countless waypoints in the vastness of the sky.

The palette of blues, turquoise, bright yellows and intense reds, combined with the graphic lines and the many details, creates a universe that is at once urban, poetic and fantastic.

With Midnight Express, Hico invites the viewer to board an imaginary train, to leave reality behind and to let themselves be carried by movement, light and imagination.

A destination? Perhaps a dream.
A time? Midnight.
A journey? The one each person chooses to undertake.
