Classical nude oil painting attributed to Natale Schiavoni (1777–1858), from Austria, dating to the 19th century; unframed size 74 x 96 cm and framed size 94 x 116 cm, not signed and in good condition, sold with its original period frame.

A large classical nude painting , created before 1820 and attributed to the work by famous italian painter Natale Sciavoni ( Chioggia 1777- 1858 Venice) during his living in Vienna from 1816 till 1821 , where he worked as court painter .Attribution to Schiavoni was made by expert for old master paintings in the Vienna Auction house Mr. Dr.P.Wolf on the base of similar work by Schiavoni , which was sold for 30 000 € incl. premium in the same auction house Dorotheum on 5.10.2005, (cat. number 90). Due to old inscription on the back of our painting , one of it`s previous owners was famous viennese oper singer Katharina Waldmueller-Weidner, the relative of two important Austrian painter: she was sister of Josef Weidner and wife of Ferdinand Georg Waldmueller.

Natale Schiavoni (1777 Chioggia by Venice - 1858 Venice) was a pupil of Francesco Magiotto and Raphael Morghen. First he was active in Venice and Florence and between 1802 and 1810 the best portrait miniaturist in Triest. In 1810 he settled down in Milan as the favorite portraitist of the court. Schiavoni followed in 1816 an invitation of the Kaiser (Emperor) Franz I to the court in Vienna, where the artist stayed until 1821. Later he lived in Venice, where he established his famous Palazzo Giustinniani and became a Professor of the Academy in 1840. He was called by his contemporaries "Pittore delle grazie" for his charming female portraits.
