Description
Beautiful and authentic antique bicycle lamp powered by acetylene/carbide, bearing the CICCA marking in relief on its mounting system.
This lamp likely dates from the early 20th century, a time when this type of lighting was commonly used on bicycles before the widespread adoption of electric lighting.
It features a large front headlamp with a domed glass, its carbide reservoir, and its mechanical mounting system allowing installation on a bicycle.
The piece shows superb antique patina, with oxidation, signs of use and variations in metal color that give it a lot of character. These time marks have been intentionally preserved.
The mechanism appears visually relatively complete, but its operation has not been tested and is therefore not guaranteed.
