Oil on canvas
Description

In this work I have sought to explore that suspended moment in which the human being stops opposing nature and decides to surrender completely to it. The figure, immersed in an ocean of deep blues and vibrant turquoises, does not represent merely a swimmer but a metaphor of trust, freedom, and the search for inner balance.

My intention has been to capture that moment when time seems to stop and the body, free from all tension, yields to the immensity of the water. For me, the sea is a space of introspection and silence, a place where the boundaries between the physical and the emotional disappear. The figure’s posture expresses that absolute surrender, that sensation of floating between the surface and the depths, between what is known and the unknown.

Through a free brushstroke and a palette dominated by blues, I have sought to convey not only movement but also the immense serenity that arises when one reconciles with oneself. The light contrasts on the skin evoke the presence of life and energy, while the deep tones of the background invite the viewer to enter an almost dreamlike space, full of mystery and contemplation.

This painting arises from my fascination with water as a universal symbol of transformation, rebirth, and freedom. Beyond figurative representation, I wanted to create a work that speaks of the human need to let oneself go, of the beauty that exists in vulnerability, and of those moments when, by diving into the deepest depths, we also discover an essential part of ourselves.

With this work I invite the viewer to pause, to contemplate, and to let themselves be enveloped by the immensity of blue, a color that for me symbolizes both the depth of the ocean and the depth of the human spirit.
