Description
In this work I represent an instant of suspension between depth and surface, between the world we leave behind and what we are moving toward.
The figure, submerged in a space dominated by blues and turquoises, seems to advance toward a current of light that filters from the surface. The warm reflection, built with oranges, ochres and reds, breaks the coldness of the water and becomes the visual axis of the composition.
The water takes on a symbolic meaning here: it can represent memory, uncertainty, change, or even that moment of transformation in which we still do not know what we will find when we surface.
I have worked with visible brushstrokes and temperature contrasts to accentuate the sense of movement and depth. The red figure acts as a point of tension within the blue and directs the gaze toward the light.
El Otro Lado is a work about transformation, search, and the desire to reach what still remains outside of our vision.
Alejandro Carballosa, Cuban visual artist and designer based in Spain, with a career marked by the exploration of strength, emotion and beauty in the animal and human figure. His work combines technical realism with a contemporary vision, where color, light and movement acquire a symbolic and expressive language.
Formed in visual arts and design, he integrates the aesthetic sensitivity of classical art with modern resources, creating pieces that balance energy and introspection.
His work has been presented in group and solo exhibitions, and is part of private collections in Germany and the United States
