Description from the seller
Oil on canvas
Description
A pictorial work of strong expressive character, featuring an imposing bull of large dimensions against an intense red background.
The composition centers all attention on the head and the powerful horns of the animal, depicted facing forward with a penetrating gaze. The earthy, ochre, black and reddish tones contrast with the vibrant red background, creating a visually striking image.
Visible brushwork and the wealth of textures give the work a sense of strength, movement, and personality. The choice of red as the background enhances the symbolic character of the bull, traditionally associated with strength, determination, and power.
A decorative and contundent piece, especially attractive to collectors of figurative art and works with bullfighting themes, as well as for spaces seeking a strong visual presence.
Alejandro Carballosa, Cuban-born plastic artist and designer based in Spain, with a career marked by the exploration of strength, emotion, and beauty in the animal and human figure. His work combines technical realism with a contemporary vision, where color, light, and movement acquire a symbolic and expressive language.
Trained in visual arts and design, he integrates the aesthetic sensibility of classical art with modern resources, creating pieces that balance energy and introspection.
His work has been presented in group and solo exhibitions, and is part of private collections in Germany and the United States
