Description from the seller

West Germany – Large Hand-Painted Art Pottery Vase – Model 651-50 – 30 cm – Mid-Century Modern

A striking hand-crafted West German art pottery vase, model 651-50, dating to the 1960s–1970s, an era in which West German ceramics gained international recognition for their bold glazes and modernist decoration.

The vase has an elegant elongated baluster shape with a finely textured matt stoneware body in a warm beige-grey tone. Around the centre runs a hand-decorated geometric frieze featuring black linear motifs combined with vibrant red, yellow and purple enamel-like panels. The abstract composition reflects the Mid-Century Modern aesthetic and gives the piece a strong architectural appearance.

The base is impressed "West Germany 651-50", indicating the model number, used by the factory's production system. The decoration and shape are characteristic of high-quality West German studio-inspired ceramics produced during the golden age of German pottery.

The vase is made of glazed ceramic/stoneware and remains in very good vintage condition, with only light signs of age and use. Please study the photographs carefully, as they form part of the description.
