With MIRROR OF FORTUNE, Toons questions the intimate relationship each person has with money. Does Scrooge McDuck accumulate wealth simply for the love of riches, or because he still sees, at the bottom of the mirror, the one he refuses to become again? Fortune becomes more than a symbol of success: it becomes a protection, an armor against the fear of scarcity.
Originating from the MONEY MIND series, the work transforms a 1-dollar bill into a psychological mirror. Behind the cartoon humor, Toons tells a contemporary truth: money speaks not only of possession, but also of memory, identity, and deep motivation.
