Deruta - Jar - Ceramic - Majolica apothecary pot

A beautiful, large Italian majolica vase/apothecary jar with lid (albarello), crafted by hand and hand-painted in Deruta, Italy.
The jar is decorated in traditional Renaissance style.
On the front there is a refined profile portrait of a nobleman/young gentleman wearing a hat, surrounded by a text ribbon (cartouche).
The piece is further richly adorned with classical geometric and wavy motifs in a harmonious color palette of blue, ochre yellow and green on a light background. At the bottom, the piece is hand-marked with "Deruta" and a master mark/initials.

Condition:
In excellent, undamaged condition. The ceramic shows no chips, cracks or restorations.
The glaze is bright and the colors are beautifully preserved.
