Collector's item: one of the founders of the CoBrA period: Constant (Constant Anton Nieuwenhys). Constant (1920-2005) was a Dutch visual artist, author, musician. He lived and worked in Amsterdam. In 1948 he founded the Experimentele Groep Holland, together with among others Karel Appel, Corneille, Jan Nieuwenhuijs, Eugene Brands. A few years later Constant was involved in the founding of the CoBrA group. In 1950 he settled in Paris, but he soon returned to Amsterdam. This original work dates from 1961. It is a pastel/drawing/gouache on paper. It is in exceptionally perfect condition. Framed by the artist himself. Provenance known and comes with certificate of authenticity.
