Yves Decaudan presents Regards croisés, an original acrylic painting from 2020 or later, 60 cm high by 80 cm wide, depicting a summer scene in a pop art figurative style, hand-signed, in excellent condition, delivered direct from the artist with certificate of authenticity, unframed on canvas.
Description from the seller
Life scene painting "Regards croisés" - 2026
The painting sits within a modern, synthetic figurative current.
The most striking stylistic element is the use of thick black outlines that clearly separate each color area, reminiscent of stained glass or modern comic-book technique.
Fauvism and Expressionism: The use of flat areas of pure, saturated, and contrasted colors creates an intense visual dynamic. Shadows are not handled by gradients, but by very dark blue or purple flat areas.
Pop Art / The Poster: The highly stylized, even graphic treatment gives the composition a clean, immediately readable appearance, very close to modern illustration art.
The title "Regards croisés" sums up the essence of the work: all the dramatic and poetic tension of the painting rests on the invisible line linking the eyes of the two characters. The pared-down graphic style eliminates all superfluous detail to focus attention on this silent complicity, this moment of pause or suspended discussion between two beings.
Painting by Breton painter Yves Decaudan - 1954
Canvas exhibited at the Paris Autumn Salon - 2022
Delivered with certificate of authenticity, directly from the studio, original.
Acrylic on cotton canvas, wooden frame, unframed, dimensions H 60 cm x L 80 cm
