Meissen porcelain teacup from Germany in the antique Neu-Ozier style, dating to ca. 1750–1800, finely hand-painted with insects and a bird on a flowering branch, with gold edging and a height of 6 cm and a diameter of 4 cm, in excellent condition and rarely used.
Description from the seller
Extraordinary and very rare collectible Meissen porcelain teacup, dating from around 1750 (the period of the War of the Austrian Succession / Rococo phase of the famous Saxon manufactory).
The piece stands out for the exceptional quality of both the workmanship and the painted decoration. The upper part of the body features the characteristic relief texture in Neu-Ozier style (or “honeycomb granulation”), finely embellished with delicate hand-painted decorations depicting small insects (Deutsche Blumen and Insekten). The lower band hosts a realistically perched little bird on a flowering branch, painted with a miniature-artist’s care typical of the great Meissen painters of the XVIII century. The upper edge and foot are finished with slender gilt profiles.
Manufactory: Meissen (Germany), authentic eighteenth-century period (c. 1750).
Subject: Bird on a branch, insects (ladybirds, beetles) and Neu-Ozier relief.
Decoration: Entirely hand-painted with polychrome enamels and gold.
Dimension: 6 cm high, diameter 4 cm
Condition: Excellent, museum-worthy and display-ready. The porcelain is intact, without chips, cracks, or restorations. The original gilding is well preserved.
