Romano Mussolini (Forlì, 1927 – Rome, 2006), son of Benito Mussolini, was a painter, pianist and jazz composer. He approached painting in the postwar period, starting to paint in Ischia in 1946 and developing over the years a predominantly figurative body of work.
His painting activity led him to exhibit in numerous Italian cities and abroad, including Rome, Turin, Cortina d’Ampezzo, Palermo, Verona, Naples, Lugano and New York. Among the main exhibitions devoted to his work are the exhibition at Castello di Otranto in 2006 and the retrospective at Galleria 25 of Venosa in 2010.
