Description from the seller
Turning Point
This contemporary work explores the tension between rupture, balance and transformation. On an almost entirely white background, a bold black form cuts across the composition, creating a striking contrast with the light-filled spaces that surround it.
A dark vertical line cuts through the composition while a golden, horizontal presence seems to connect the two parts of the work. The black evokes depth, matter and strength, while white brings silence, space and breathing room. The golden touch introduces a more precious and luminous dimension, like a trace of passage or an opening toward a new balance.
The deliberately pared-down composition leaves ample room for interpretation. The lines, the overlays and the visible traces of the painting gesture give the work an almost architectural dimension, while retaining great spontaneity.
Technique: contemporary mixed media on canvas
Style: contemporary abstract art
Title: Turning Point
A sober and expressive work, which will naturally find its place in a contemporary interior and invites the eye to move between force, silence and light.
The painting will be shipped rolled in a tube, without the stretcher.
About the artist: Born in 1966, Jane Grièco is a Brazilian artist living in Brittany.
Since her beginnings under the bright, insistent sun of the tropics, Jane has pursued beauty in the thousands of color nuances that the light makes sparkle.
Jane Grieco has notably exhibited her design works at the Art & Deco fair in La Villette, the Palais Lumière in Évian-les-Bains, Maison & Objet and in Brazil, Switzerland, Spain.
