Juan Fuster (Elche, 1968) develops an artistic career marked by experimentation with materials and by the search for new ways of relating painting, object, and space. Trained in Graphic Design in Alicante and an alumnus of the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Boston, his work is characterized by a conception of the work as a construction, where materials take on a leading role.
Aluminum Synapse visually explores the thinking process through a structure built from geometric shapes of Alucobond. The pieces overlap, cross, and articulate themselves through a system of joints that generates a dynamic composition, as if it were a thought in constant movement and transformation.
The sober, silent gray background acts as a support for a structure in which lines, angles, circles, and crossed directions predominate. The layering of the elements creates depth and spatial tension, while the visible joints emphasize the idea of connection between the different parts.
The title directly alludes to the synapse, understood as the point of connection and transmission between neurons. In this way, the work renders an invisible process into an image: the path of ideas, their connections, associations, and changes of direction. Each element seems to be part of a network of relations in which one idea leads to another.
Aluminum Synapse thus transforms an industrial material into a metaphor for thought, building an architecture of moving ideas, where matter, space, and connection integrate into a single abstract composition.
