Perestroika/Glasnost propaganda poster Late Soviet Union 1989 with the Russian text
PEACE FOR ALL NATIONS, THE USSR IS OUR COMMON HOME.

Historical context: the poster appeared in 1989 in a modest print run of 35,000 copies in Ukraine/Kharkov during the late phase of the Soviet Union under leader Mikhail Gorbachev. In this period, the regime sought to emphasize unity and friendship among the various Soviet republics while the country was already under great political and economic pressure [just before the dissolution in 1991].
This poster was a direct attempt by the government to preserve unity and was meant to convince citizens in the republics that they would be better off staying together, which did not succeed.
