Walking home late one evening through her neighbourhood, the artist noticed an unusually bright full moon glowing above the quiet streets. The apartment windows were dark, the balconies empty, and the familiar orange glow of the streetlights contrasted with a sky that seemed almost as bright as daytime.
The composition centres on the moon, whose outline remains visible even through thick layers of cloud. A delicate blue halo surrounds its light, while the illuminated clouds fill the sky with unexpected colour. The quiet buildings below anchor the scene, balancing the vastness of the sky with the stillness of an ordinary residential street.
The painting preserves the memory of one of those everyday moments that suddenly feel extraordinary, reminding us how familiar places can become unexpectedly captivating under the right light.

Seller's Story
I am Eliza Kołodziej, a Polish painter (b. 2000) and MFA graduate from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, where I completed my diploma with the highest distinction.
I create oil paintings focused on urban spaces, often exploring moments of tension, emptiness and quiet unease – places that feel familiar but slightly off. My work is rooted in traditional painting techniques, with a strong attention to light, material and atmosphere.
Alongside painting, I also work with textile and craft-based practices, which influence my sensitivity to structure and surface.
My works have been exhibited in galleries such as Bacalarte Gallery and A10 Gallery, as well as in group exhibitions at the Palace of Culture and Science in Warsaw. I am a recipient of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage Scholarship and multiple Rector’s Scholarships for outstanding artistic achievement.
All artworks offered here come directly from my studio. Each piece is original, carefully finished and shipped securely with a hand-signed Certificate of Authenticity.
