A bit of history:
"Inspired by an engraving kept at the Château de Malmaison, this scarf by Philippe Ledoux, one of the house’s historical designers, features in its center the Phaéton of Napoléon I’s son. This equestrian carriage takes its name from the son of Helios, personification of the sun in Greek mythology. Seizing his father’s solar chariot, which he lost control of, Phaéton perished after nearly touching the world. This sumptuous little phaeton is adorned with all the trappings of the empire. Built in 1812 by coachbuilder Tremblay, it is kept at Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna, where the Emperor’s son spent much of his life."
According to the Arfon edition of designer art squares dictionary, it is considered fairly rare and fairly sought after (photo attached).
Very good vintage overall condition despite a tiny stain (last photo).
Will be carefully packaged and shipped with tracking number.
