In this series of acrylics on canvas (for mounting on a 100 × 100 cm frame), the tree becomes a symbol that transcends its status as landscape to transform into a metaphor of memory, rootedness, and the capacity for regeneration. Isolated in the center of each composition, it emerges as a living presence that dialogizes with a space built through planes of color, grafismos, and ornamental references.
Far from a naturalistic representation, these works place nature in a hybrid territory where the organic coexists with the geometric and the decorative. The canopies, resolved with a free, material gesture, contrast with backgrounds structured by color fields and graphic motifs that evoke both ornamental tradition and contemporary visual language. This encounter between order and spontaneity generates a tension that gives the paintings intense plastic energy.
Color plays an essential role in constructing meaning. The oranges, turquoises, blues, and magentas do not describe a specific place, but an interior landscape where emotion prevails over representation. Light seems to rise from the canvas itself, enveloping the vegetation in an atmosphere that fluctuates between the real and the imagined.
The richness of textures, the superpositions, and the gestural strokes reveal an open painting process, where each layer preserves the memory of the previous ones. The trees thus appear as organisms in permanent transformation, witnesses to the passage of time and metaphors of resilience. Their roots, barely hinted at, contrast with the expansion of the canopies, reminding us that all growth requires a deep link to its origin.
These compositions invite us to reconsider our relationship with the landscape, not as an external setting, but as a reflection of our own experience. The tree ceases to be merely a pictorial motif and becomes a space of contemplation and encounter, where nature, culture, and memory intertwine in a delicate balance. Each work proposes a pause, an attentive gaze, and a reflection on the permanence of life in the face of ongoing change.
