Pair of antique solid-brass candlesticks
Height: 20 cm
Base: 5.5 cm
Total weight: 800 g (the first 400 g, the second 385 g)
A superb pair of turned and screwed brass candlesticks, with an elegant and balanced design.
Each piece features a stable hexagonal base, a finely molded baluster-turned shaft, and a crenellated dish to catch the wax.
The visible screw-fitting under one of the candlesticks attests to high-quality artisanal work, typical of British or French workshops of the late 19th century.
Condition
Very good overall condition, with a uniform golden patina.
One element is removable (visible thread), with no impact on stability or aesthetics.
Light signs of wear, consistent with age.
Origin
Probably United Kingdom or France, late Victorian period.
Made of solid brass, hand-turned.
Style and use
