Description from the seller
Extensive Militaria Estate 1914–1918: Handwritten War Diary & 36+ Original Documents – Schallmeßtrupp / Balkan Front
For sale is a historically highly interesting and complete collection from World War I (1914–1918) of the soldier Johannes Friedrich Wilhelm Bockelmann (born 1879 in Krempe). Since his original military passport was destroyed during the dramatic retreat battles on the Balkan front, the soldier meticulously created this estate as a personal substitute and service record
The collection comprises about 40 pages as well as over 36 original documents:
War Diary: Multi-page, handwritten account of the entire course of the war from mobilization in 1914 to discharge in 1918. Including a pasted original photo of the soldier in uniform in front of a front shelter.
Over 36 original vouchers: A fascinating mix of contemporary documents, including official orders, leave passes, travel tickets, IDs, and postcards from the service period. Official discharge certificate: Dated 29 November 1918 from District Command I, Düsseldorf.
