With KEY, the body stretches until it becomes a line. A white vertical topped by a sphere whose mineral hue seems to have preserved something of a celestial body.
As is often the case with Lou Ma Ho, the form does not give an answer. It asserts a presence. KEY could be a man facing the horizon. A watchman. A lighthouse without light. Or simply someone who has stopped.
The more the figure sheds its layers, the more present it seems. The more it becomes silent, the more it compels the viewer to listen. The key may not be in the sculpture. It is in what it opens within us.
