Circus Gymnasticus - 1831

Circus Gymnasticus. A grand arena of the Academy of higher equestrian art. Trampoline jumping, Hercules strength and pantomime. The Art Riders' Society of Mr. J. Liebhard and G. Golz will have the honour of giving daily performances with variation. The show begins with a military maneuver by six riders. Mr. Liebhard will present himself as Tambour-Major and strike on fifteen different drums simultaneously. A highly esteemed audience would not imagine him as an ordinary drummer. He has a completely different style for it, and performs according to the music. He strikes on the back of the drum with such precision and speed that the spectators are astonished.
