Beautiful cast-iron koi lantern / Tōrō / lantern
Very rarely encountered model from the Shōwa period.
Dimensions are approximately 30 x 18 x 15 cm.
The lantern is fitted with a hanging eyelet.
Dating: Shōwa period (1926-1989)

The koi lantern has a quarter-turn opening at the bottom for placing a tea light. Comes with a replacement closure.

Nice for by a pond, or on a table
Can be used as dai-dōrō (standing lamp) and as tsuri-dōrō (hanging lamp)
The original lacquer has over time given way to a beautiful brown/red patina formed by the elements of nature.

Zeer zelden voorkomend model afkomstig uit de Shōwa-periode.
Afmeting zijn ca 30x18x15cm. 
De lantaarn is voorzien van een ophang oog.  
Datering: Shówa periode (1926-1989)

De koi lantaarn heeft een voor het plaatsen  van een waxinelichtje aan de onderkant een kwartslag opening.   Komt met vervangende sluiting.

Leuk voor bij een vijver, of op tafel 
Te gebruiken als dai-dōrō (staand lamp) en als  tsuri-dōrō (hangend lamp) 
De oorspronkelijke lak heeft in de loop der tijd plaats gemaakt voor een mooie bruin/rode patina door de elementen van de natuur.
