Story & Heritage
The Omega bumper automatic movement belongs to one of the most fascinating chapters in the history of automatic watchmaking. Before the modern full-rotor automatic system became standard, Omega produced its celebrated bumper movements, where the oscillating weight travelled in a limited arc and “bumped” gently against springs inside the movement.
This construction gives these watches a special mechanical personality, appreciated by collectors for both their technical charm and historical importance. Omega bumper watches represent the transition between traditional hand-wound timepieces and the fully automatic wristwatches that would define modern watchmaking.
This example combines that historic movement with a bold, professionally restored dial, creating a vintage Omega with strong visual identity and classic Swiss mechanical soul. Elegant, distinctive and full of character, it is a beautiful piece for any collector of vintage Omega watches.
