Inspired by the work of Suzanne Valadon, a personal version painted by the Dutch-Danish artist Borgen Lindhardt.

She graduated from the Academy of Visual Arts Maastricht (1996). Uses Borgen Lindhardt as her signature name and is known for her “kimono series,” inspired by the work of G. H. Breitner. She creates oil paintings in which old masters, in combination with personal elements (cat, painting supplies, and fantasy figures), form a new spectacle. Her style is characterized by a visible thick brushstroke. And she ranges from labor-intensive, playful works to fluent, sketch-like paintings.
