Alpine Mountain Landscape with Wild Stream – Oil Painting from 1871
J. Willa, signed and dated
This large-format oil painting depicts an alpine landscape with a roaring wild stream that carves its way through rocky terrain in a forested mountain valley. In the background, mighty rock peaks rise, partly shrouded in clouds, while a small wooden hut and a single figure along the path animate the scene. A romantically naturalistic composition, typical of late 19th-century Alpine painting.
Artist: Signed with J. Willa
Technique: Oil on canvas
Dating: 1871
Frame: Includes a period-typical wooden frame with a black-gold profiled strip.
Condition description:
The painting is in a condition appropriate to its age of over 150 years. The color effect is vivid and the composition is fully preserved. Signs of aging are visible in the images.

Craquelure: The paint layer shows a uniform craquelé network.
Canvas: Isolated light impression marks; no penetrations or cracks.
