Description from the seller

Set of 3 professional DHR70N navigation lights - Ex-Dutch Royal Navy (Dokkum-class Mine Countermeasure Vessel) - Renovated on 220V

Offered is a set of three professional ship lanterns from the renowned Dutch quality manufacturer Den Haan Rotterdam (DHR), type 70N. This specific set comes from the operational warehouse stocks of the Dokkum-class minehunters of the Royal Netherlands Navy.

The lanterns can be traced back to the large-scale fleet modernization (Mid-Life Update) implemented in the 1980s on the active minehunters of this class. Due to the strict onboard operational requirements for mine countermeasures craft (to avoid magnetic sea mines), these ships had to operate completely anti-magnetically. Accordingly, these DHR fittings are entirely free of ferromaterials and are specifically constructed from matte black, reinforced polyamide, impact-resistant polycarbonate and seawater-resistant stainless steel 316. The housings bear authentic factory markings with each product number engraved on a stainless steel plate.
The lanterns are equipped with the original heavy glass Fresnel lenses for a maritime light range of 3-5 nautical miles.
On the top is a lid with a handle, which can be easily screwed open and closed.

The set consists of:
• 1x Port Light (Green) - Duplex version: Double-deck sector light with back-up compartment. Required in compliance with SOLAS/MED regulations for sea-going vessels from 50 meters in length.
• 1x Starboard Light (Red) - Duplex version: Double-deck sector light with back-up compartment. Also mandatory for vessels from 50 meters.
• 1x All-round / Masthead Light (White) - Single-deck version: Suitable as anchor, deck or signal light.

The fittings have been recently technically inspected and refurbished with an eye toward preserving maritime originality:
Internal wiring has been completely renewed and safely routed to an external cord with plug (suitable for the regular 220V-230V mains).
The original robust P28 sockets have been retained. The lanterns are fitted with new, original 220V / 65 Watt maritime navigation lamps (vertical filament). As a result, the set functions immediately and safely on the regular mains, while preserving the authentic, tight light pattern of the Fresnel lenses.

Usage advice (Heat generation):
The supplied original 65W maritime filament lamps are designed for open sea exposure. For prolonged indoor use in an enclosed space, the fittings can become warm, causing the lamps to wear out more quickly. For intensive daily indoor use or as ambient lighting, it is therefore advised to replace the 65W lamps with a modern, cool-maintenance P28s LED replacement, which is readily available online.

Condition:
In excellent working mechanical and electrical condition. The housings show superficial signs of use inherent to active service at sea and storage. There are no cracks or deep damage to the polycarbonate or the glass lenses.
