Chupa Chupa Pop, an original oil painting by Kino Mistral from Italy, 40 × 30 cm, dated 2020+, in a Modern style.
Description from the seller
Artist: Kino Mistral
Title: Chupa Chupa Pop
Technique: Oil and dripping on canvas
Dimensions: 40x30 cm
The work Chupa Chupa Pop by Kino Mistral represents an extraordinary and magnetic fusion between Pop Art aesthetics and a refined chromatic monocromatic research, broken by accents of vibrant contrast.
The painting captures in the foreground the face and bust of a female figure, entirely wrapped and shaped by intense and deep shades of electric blue and cobalt.
The woman's skin, treated with an impeccable and velvety application of oil, creates a play of volumes and soft shading that gives three-dimensionality to the face, the nose, and the hand that gently touches the lips.
The hair flows at the sides of the face like dark waves, outlined by sinuously graphic midnight-blue lines that recall the controlled dripping technique, infusing dynamism into the composition.
To break the cold dominance of blue, elements of pure visual and emotional impact intervene, typical of the Pop imaginary.
The sunglasses, with mirrored lenses in gray and black stripes, are framed by a bright red frame with confetti-pink edges, which immediately attract the observer's gaze.
The true conceptual and chromatic fulcrum is, however, the lollipop (hence the title of the work): a perfect sun-yellow circle, surrounded by the bright red of the lips and supported by a bright green stick.
This iconic detail evokes a sense of playful sensuality and contemporary nostalgia.
Bottom right, the work bears the artist's autograph signature "Kino Mistral", elegantly traced in blue.
