Description from the seller
Title: Harmony in the Garden
Artist: M. Perone
Technique: Oil on panel
Dimensions: 40 x 30 cm
The composition depicts a young woman with long coppery hair, immersed in a fairy-tale and suspended atmosphere, as she gently clasps a white cat to her chest. The female figure, captured in an attitude of quiet contemplation, tilts her face toward the animal with half-closed eyes, creating an intense sense of intimacy, protection and mutual serenity.
The protagonist is characterized by a refined rendering of the face and complexion, modeled through soft tonal transitions that give the skin a delicate and almost porcelain luminosity. Particularly evocative is the mane, developed in a rich cascade of coppery and orange hair, crossed by numerous luminous filaments and sinuous brushstrokes that enhance movement and texture.
In the center of the scene, the white cat constitutes a luminous element of balance. Its fur, rendered through a dense weave of fine brushstrokes, contrasts with the greater chromatic intensity of the surrounding environment. The serene expression of the animal, with its eyes closed, reinforces the affectionate and reassuring character of the entire composition.
Color plays a fundamental role in the work. The woman's dress explodes in a rich variety of greens, turquoises, ochres, yellows, oranges and reds, enriched by floral and vegetal motifs that seem to merge with the surrounding nature. In the background rise trees, foliage and long violet inflorescences, creating an imaginary garden with deep and enveloping tones. The trunk on the left, built with textural brushstrokes in browns and ochres, helps give depth to the scene and introduces a strong natural element.
The whole reveals a decorative and narrative sensibility, in which the human figure, the animal and the vegetation coexist in harmonious balance. The richness of detail, the brilliance of the palette and the softness of the figurative rendering confer on the work a romantic and fairy-tale character, evoking a secluded world where time seems to have stood still.
"Harmony in the Garden" effectively synthesizes the theme of the work: a moment of absolute quiet and sweetness, in which the emotional bond between the young woman and the cat becomes the focus of an image rich in poetry, color and natural suggestions.
